Broadoaks Wedding Pianist | Lake District Pianist
Broadoaks Wedding Pianist
Broadoaks Country House is one of the Lake District’s most popular exclusive-use wedding venues, set between Windermere and Ambleside and surrounded by landscaped gardens and woodland. It has a relaxed feel and combines traditional character and contemporary styling, so it offers a comfortable, homely setting for weddings of all sizes.
The Lake District Pianist has been a recommended supplier at Broadoaks for many years, regularly performing at weddings as well as the venue’s open days and menu tasting events. From receptions in the Music Room — home to a fantastic grand piano — through to ceremonies and wedding breakfasts in the Orangery, live piano fits naturally into every part of the day here, creating a welcoming experience and enjoyable atmosphere for guests.
Live Wedding Piano at Broadoaks
Craig Smith has worked closely with the team at Broadoaks for many years and is a familiar face at the venue, performing regularly not only for weddings but also at showcase events and menu tasters. That long-standing relationship means he understands exactly how each space works, how the day flows and how best to position his pianos for both sound and visual impact.
At Broadoaks, the Orangery is most often used for both ceremonies and wedding breakfasts, providing a bright, adaptable space ideal for live piano. The instrument is usually positioned close to the central partition, which allows the sound to carry evenly across the room. For ceremonies, this places the piano just behind the seating. You'll have a choice of Craig's white or gloss black portable baby grands. Outdoor ceremonies on the lawn are straightforward to accommodate, with various piano setups available.
The Music Room offers a more intimate setting for guests’ arrivals, drinks receptions and early evening entertainment and most couples make use of the piano, either for background music or for more interractive entertainment. Craig's unique and very popular Electronic Requests System allows guests to send him requests direct from the table so is ideal in the Orangery but is often used in the Music Room too.
One of the things that makes Broadoaks a favourite venue of Craig's is the number of smaller weddings hosted there. Many of these couples choose to continue the celebration in the Music Room instead of having a DJ, creating a “piano lounge” atmosphere with live requests, singing and dancing. It’s a style of evening reception that works particularly well at Broadoaks and offers something a little different, with Craig’s live performance becoming the focal point of the celebration in a way that allows guests to truly get involved.
As a recommended supplier, Craig is also able to offer an exclusive discount for couples getting married at Broadoaks.

Choosing Music For Your Broadoaks Wedding
Couples booking Craig for Broadoaks weddings choose from the following options. The layout of the venue, with ceremony and meal usually in the same space and a piano already present in the other means that couples and can enjoy seamless music across the entire day without the need to move equipment, so the whole-day Windermere and Ullswater packages are particularly popular here.
