One of the standout features of weddings at The Inn on the Lake is the Garden Gazebo, set close to the lake's shore with a breathtaking mountain backdrop. Easily one of the most picturesque ceremony spots in the Lake District, it offers an unforgettable setting for outdoor weddings, with live piano adding an extra sense of occasion as guests take their seats and the ceremony begins, as you can hear in the video below.

Craig can provide either of his portable baby grand pianos for ceremonies here, as well as in the main hotel spaces; you'll have the choice of white or gloss black models.

Craig's Experience as an Inn on the Lake Pianist

Craig first performed at The Inn on the Lake in the early 2020s and has since become a regular visitor, with many couples coming through recommendations from the venue team. That growing familiarity means he understands how each part of the venue works in practice, from outdoor ceremony setups for the perfect accompaniment to a gazebo wedding to positioning the piano for drinks receptions and wedding breakfasts.

For ceremonies, Craig can set up one of his portable baby grand pianos at the Garden Gazebo or within the hotel, ensuring a strong visual focal point as well as excellent sound. The are also suitable for use in the Lake View Restaurant and Glenridding Suite.

For drinks receptions, the lawns and terrace overlooking Ullswater are particularly popular, where live piano works especially well as guests relax and take in the surroundings. Music moves into the bar space if the famous Lake District weather closes in. Performances for guests' arrivals can be arranged for either the bar or terrace too.

Wedding breakfast performances are also a popular choice at The Inn on the Lake. Craig’s unique Electronic Requests System allows guests to send unlimited song requests directly from their tables, adding an interactive and memorable element to the celebration while maintaining a relaxed atmosphere. There are suitable piano setups for each of the Glenridding Suite, Lake View Restaurant and the Candleroom.
